What’s new
Recent improvements to The Somm.
Scan from anywhere
The capture button now lives front and center — right in the middle of the bottom bar. Tap it from any screen to scan a bottle or a wine list. It even adapts to where you are: on your Cellar it adds a bottle, and while shopping it gives you a quick buy-or-skip.
A fresh app icon
The Somm has a new look, with a wine-glass icon to match. If you added The Somm to your home screen on iPhone, delete the old one and add it again to pick up the new icon: open thesomm.ai in Safari, tap the Share button, then “Add to Home Screen.”
Tell Somm your budget and clubs
In Settings you can now set a comfortable price range — one for an everyday bottle and one for a special occasion — so recommendations stay in your zone. You can also note the wine clubs and memberships you belong to, and The Somm keeps them in mind.
Find where to buy
When The Somm recommends a bottle in a chat, you can now get a link to find it online — no more copying the name into a search to hunt it down.
A cleaner bottle page
The bottle page in your cellar got a refresh. The details, drinking window, and actions are easier to read and reach at a glance.
Faster menu scans
When you scan a wine list, you now see a count of the wines within a second or two, and they fill in as The Somm reads them — no more waiting for the whole list to finish. Long lists that used to get stuck now come through smoothly. If a scan did not work for you before, it is worth trying again.
See your account activity
In Settings you'll find a new Activity view — a simple history of your account: what you've added and what each scan, menu, or chat has cost, for this month, the last 30 days, or all time. Your balance and an Add funds button are right at the top.
